What a Night!

Finally managed to get down to uploading the photos for Beer Pong III that happened…. almost half a month ago! Apologies! Projects, presentation and week 12 hell got us real bad. But! Here we are, still alive, so all is good. :)

We were expecting quite a number of people turning up (since it’s our signature event), but the number that came left us with raised eyebrowns and running around like headless chickens. Needless to say, it was so. much. fun. A happy riot!
The final line-up comprised of the Old Sailors (Beer Pong I, Champions), Penguins,
Uncle Heng (Beer Pong II, Champions), Uncle Heng Jr., Emo Elmo, Hairy Hindus, Sparcs, Beer Bellied Beans Too (Beer Pong I & II, Runner-up), Team Tiang! Whoohoo!, Live Without Regrests, MORIGERATI, Too Wit Too Wooooo, The Teetotallers, DDE, Charlie’s Angels, Beer Necessities, M.I.L.F- Man, I Love Firewater!, Pirates, Team Goldhearts, Captain Jack Sparrow, Beer Bears & The Exchange Tigers.

Each team seem to have come with their own set of supporters, so
it was quite a racket! Everyone was enthusiastically cheering for one person or another, scoffing down beer and mixed nuts and hanging out with the crowd while Stereometa music kept them psyched up. We’re not sure how Jonny managed to get himself heard and keep the competition moving, but he more than did that. Thank God for experienced emcees! You rock, Jon!
There were 33 games in the preliminaries across 3 separate tables, each taking an average of 3.33333 min and using 3.3333L of draft beer, happening while the moon was an angle of 33.333 degrees from the earth and we breathed 33 times. And of course, everything beyond the first clause of the sentence is utter rubbish. (Just thought it was funny that everything we did that night was in multiples of 3: we had 3 tables, 33 games, 12 frujchaholics , 90L of beer…Okay. This is probably the part where the other frujchaholics interrupt and tell me THEY REALLY DON’T CARE.)
So moving on, the preliminaries lasted about 1 1/2 hour which was a success operational-wise! Everything moved like
clockwork : the replacing of cups, the pouring of beer, the arranging of cups, getting the right teams to the right table, the refilling of jugs, the recording of scores …. whilst normal counter operations went on selling sandwiches and drinks and more beer… and others ran around serving mixed nuts, free beer, taking pictures and clearing up.
We did have one hitch though which was panic-worthy: The Draft Machine wouldn’t work for a period of time after we changed barrels. As we got closer to bald-dom by pulling our hair out in frustration, this kind stranger stepped up and put us out of our misery by fixing it. THANKS TO WHOEVER YOU ARE! We didn’t get your name, but you are much appreciated! Same goes to all those who tried to help us, but couldn’t figure it out either!

There were a bunch of temp frujchaholics that night: Venisha (Shal’s friend), Yolanda(Sherm’s friend), Louis (everybody’s friend?), Erfen(Nab’s friend) & Sharyn (She worked @ frujch last em!!). They came down to help us out because it was week 11 and we simply couldn’t get enough manpower, in short, we couldn’t have done it with out them. We kept thanking them, but they brushed it aside, saying it was a lot of fun being game masters. Strange folk! They didn’t even grumble when we made them wear these ugly makeshift signs that had “A”,”B”,”C” scribbled on them to indicate which table they were presiding..that’s friendship man, friendship.

Nisa’s missing though! She had Rudolph ears + nose!
Poor girl still worked even though she was sick.
We love you, NISA!
After much tabulating and tie-breaking calculations, the 4 semi-final teams were Old Sailors (Beer Pong I, Champions), Captain Jack Sparrow, DDE (Dev Drinks Everything) and Beer Bellied Beans Too (Beer Pong I & II, Runner-ups)

Then, it was down to Beer Bellied Beans Too VS Captain Jack Sparrow.
After a fingernail-gnawing, anticipation-building 15 minutes, BEER BELLIED BEANS TOO won!!!! They went wild! The crate was lifted in triumph, Heineken bottles were opened and everyone cheered as they toasted one another and downed their beer…
